INTERIOR DESIGN YEARBOOK | MARCH 2018

Article title:
Professional Pad

Studio Suss was asked to design the interior of a Pied-a-Terre overlooking the Thames for a busy professional client and his family. This was the client’s secondary residence and so the brief was to create a haven for him while working in London during the week and also function as a family home during the occasional weekend and holidays. The design intention was to create a minimal look that enhanced the views whilst also injecting personality, tactility and warmth. Height adjustable pendants, textured wallpaper and the clients’ love of art, the colour orange and Mid Century modern furniture were just some of the elements incorporated to achieve this. Maximising on storage where possible was also a key part of the brief. Wood panelled walls with integrated shelves and desk, twin beds with drawers and a deep headboard with built in shelves were some of the bespoke space saving solutions that were designed, both practical and harmonious with the overall aesthetic of the interior.
